Rejuvenate yourself with Alaya Spa and Salon

Hi lovelies.

Recently I visited the Alaya Spa and Salon and was so impressed with their services that I thought I’d share my experience with you all. Alaya has three branches in NCR and I visited their Salon in Saket (PVR Saket Complex) The very first impression was of its contemporary Tibetan Buddhism ambience. As soon as you’d enter the Salon you’ll feel that you’ve been transported to a different world altogether which is extremely serene and peaceful, totally justifying the meaning of its name which is ‘the final state of mind before it attains nirvana’.

A visit to this salon would relax your mind and rejuvenate your soul. Some of the services for both men and women that are offered by Alaya’s highly experience spa therapists and skilled salon artists include:

-          Oil Based as well as dry Body Therapies such as its signature traditional Tibetan kunya, aroma therapy, Hawaiian lomi lomi massage, classic Swedish, thai traditional massage and lots more.
-          Foot therapies
-          Various combination of the above two
-          Spa Facials of different kinds (Anti-ageing, skin brightening, anti-acne) using Repechage products
-          Various Body Polish and wraps
-          Body scrubs of 3 kinds using Repechage products
-          Salon services

I have extremely dry, frizzy and damaged hair so I tried their Moroccan Oil Hair Ritual (Scalp Treatment + Supercharge Hair Spa). The salon artist first examined my hair texture and scalp and then started it with an anti-dandruff treatment followed by shampoo, deep conditioning, steam, hydrating mask and a blow dry at the end. The treatment made my hair drastically soft, glossy and luscious, because of which I would surely be revisiting Alaya and would be sharing more reviews with you guys on Instagram about their other services as well.

Thank you Alaya Spa and Salon for a pampering treat.
 Until next time..XO, Inakshi

Casually Chic

Accessorizing is an important part of your look and more importantly to accessorize well. Accessories are just as important as your clothes. One such accessory, as I mentioned in my last blog post, that can enhance your look is a clutch.

We usually associate clutches with Indian-wear or Party-wear but in this blog post I'd be showing you how to carry a clutch for a casual chic look and yet stand out of the crowd.

In my last blog post, I introduced you to the very talented Tarini Nirula and her latest collection "Iridescence", exploring deeper layers of colours, patterns and textures to bring out the magical beauty of Iridescence. Her designs are all handcrafted by highly skilled artisans of India and usually involves 8-9 hours of hard work per piece.

I have styled the Tarini Nirula Minaudière 'Coral Kiss' in this blog post. Chic and glamorous with pastel hues, this clutch can accentuate any outfit.  Keeping the outfit minimal with a white shirt and pastel coloured skirt, I decided to highlight the look and give it a feminine touch with the clutch and incorporated a pastel colour-blocking in it.

Inspired by luminous iridescent shades seen in the mother of pearl, the clutch has elaborate threadwork, coloured glass beads and sequins as well as comes handy with a silver chain.

Minaudière's by Tarini Nirula

"I have always thought of accessories as the exclamation point of a woman's outfit" I second this quote by Michael Kors. A woman's outfit isn't complete unless she has the right kind of accessories to go with it. One such fashion necessity is a clutch! Wether it's a casual brunch with your girls, a party or post work soirées, there is a statement clutch for every occasion and it is all you need to enhance your outfit.

I recently came across the uber stylish and high on utility clutches by Tarini Nirula and was completely smitten by her creative designs and detailed work. Having graduated from NIFT, India where she specialized in Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories, Tarini launched her own label of luxury fashion accessories in 2011 and has been designing enchanting clutches and bags since then. While interacting with her, I could sense the immense passion and zeal she has for her work which is clearly reflected in her clutches. She has recently launched two new collections which I would like to take you guys through and therefore I would be doing a series of posts featuring beautifully handcrafted minaudières' by Tarini Nirula.

Her latest collection draws it's inspiration from the beauty of nature and the the phenomena of ‘Iridescence’ - luminous colours that seem to change when seen from different angles. I will be talking more about her minaudières' in further blog posts until then have a look at how I styled her Minaudière 'Majestic', a striking statement piece clutch inspired by the shades of a majestic peacock feather and showcasing intricate bead work with sequins on the feather. The clutch has an optional antique gold chain, handwork on one side and peacock feather print on both sides, making it a perfect accessory for both Indian as well as Western occasions.
This is one of my most favourite pieces from Tarini's collection and I decided to style it with a plain dress to let the clutch do all the talking.

Fashion Meet Up | AskmeBazaar

Online shopping has made our shopping experiences so much more convenient, isnt it? Whenever a parcel arrives at my doorstep through online shopping, it's like a gift to myself from myself.
AskmeBazaar is one of India's best online shopping portals I've come across. From apparels, electronic products, cosmetics, books to home appliances, jewellery and lots more, they offer a huge variety of products under one website. Apart from the varied products available, their website also offers huge discounts, exciting deals and combo packages along with next-day delivery options and responsive after-sale services.
Recently I attended a Fashion Bloggers Meetup organized by AskmeBazaar and Blogmint wherein the team from AskmeBazaar walked us through an informative presentation and gave us insights about their website, its growth, reach, market share etc followed by the most exciting part of the event, a fashionable style-book competition. Being a fashion-enthusiast, dressing-up games started appealing me when I was just four years old and since then anything related to dressing-up and styling interests me.

For the competition, all Fashion Bloggers were divided into teams and had to style mannequins provided to each team using AskmeBazaar's fashion closet consisting of uptown funky clothes and accessories. The Fashion Closet had a huge variety of products, chic crop tops and skirts, printed ensemble, ethnic attires as well as trendy accessories (sunglasses; neckpieces; bags; footwear) and selecting one look out of it all was in itself a task.

We had a great time dressing-up our mannequin, shuffled various outfits and finally decided to incorporate layering with a shirt-on-shirt look using two differently styled shirts (One with tropical prints and knotted style and the other being a denim one) with a mid-length white skirt and accessorized it with sunglasses, funky boho neckpieces with pendants having religious symbols, a tribal colourful clutch and printed wedges for a Tropical yet Boho Look.

I had a great time at the AskmeBazaar Fashion Meet up. Do have a look at their website: www.askmebazaar.com in order to have a splendid shopping experience.
Until Next Time..Xo, Inakshi

Hi there! Some of you might know that PRECIOSA presented designer Rimple and Harpreet Narula's collection MAHARADJAH & CO. at Amazon India Couture Week 2015 which was held in New Delhi, India on 1st August.

The collection was inspired by the Indian Maharajas and the nobles of that era and their lifestyle which was heavily influenced by their travels to the West, the collection is an ode to splendor and extravagance of their lives well-lived. The designer duo have used PRECIOSA crystal components in their collection. An  interesting amalgamation of couture, craft and heritage, which has created a sensational splash on the Indian fashion.

I'm sharing with you all pictures of the show followed by few details about Preciosa and the Designer duo.

MAHARADJAH & CO.-Couture 2015

The splendor and glory of the erstwhile Days of the Raj is the raison d’être of Rimple and Harpreet’s “Maharadjah & Co.” at the India Couture Week 2015 edition. Inspired by the Indian Maharajas and the nobles of that era and their lifestyle which was heavily influenced by their travels to the West, the collection is an ode to splendor and extravagance of their lives well-lived.

Rimple and Harpreet have endeavored to capture the very beginnings of “bespoke” & “portraiture” in India by delving into the vast archives that chronicle the Maharajas and their retinues, their early interactions with western luxury and the collection is reminiscent of the vast and extraordinary commissions that were conferred by these royals on western design houses. With leitmotifs such as the “vase of plenty” the line celebrates the usage of insignias which were used by the former royals in establishing themselves as “royals” while simultaneously paying homage to fine craftsmanship. It is a celebration of royal opulence tempered in hues of ivory & beige, burnished golds and velveteen ruby that harks back to a time when the “Maharadjas” and “Maharanees” were the toast of  European high society- equally at ease in the royal ballrooms of Calcutta and Kapurthala as well as chic Parisian saloons. Scintillating hand crafted embroideries and dazzling Preciosa crystals veritably breathe life onto the surfaces of each ensemble while the theatrical, larger-than- life silhouettes -- dramatic capes and robes, sheer billowy jackets, regal cloaks and lehengas--are evocative of a bygone majestic magnificence, making the collection  a befitting tribute to an opulent era of high fashion, exotic indulgence and rich statements in regal clothing and accessories.

Profile and Background of Designer

The Rimple and Harpreet Narula label is an interesting meeting ground of couture, craft and heritage.

Their signature style represents an interesting paradox of rural craft and exalted design highly distressed surface treatments are juxtaposed with fine hand embroideries and the silhouettes enhanced with a contemporary spin! Their take on design and the process of design is intuitive while their approach to color and use of fabric is spontaneous yet exceptional.

Their current fascination with Royalty and the days of the Raj as well as their interest in the flourishing period of Islamic art, has kept them engaged in creating a collection that is rich, ornate and yet sophisticated and extraordinarily unique.

They have their flagship stores each in Delhi, Ludhiana and Chennai, the label also retails from  Amara and Aza, Ensemble and Aara Fashions in Dubai, Aashni+Co., London as well as Sanskrit in Hong Kong.

I hope I was able to walk you through the show. Until next time..XO, Inakshi
